Dresses and Jumpsuits

Free People “I’m Still Obsessed” mini dress – black and petrichor (reddish brown, in first photo), S. This is a super comfortable gauzy textured stretch cotton and has hip pockets. Not full coverage for a bra as it has deep arm holes and back keyhole closure. Great for layering or with a coordinating bralette underneath. At least over the last couple of months, it seems this goes in an out of stock in the different colors, so check back! If you want to search for a similar style of dress, I’d look for “sleeveless smock dress”. NotPerfectLinen on Etsy makes styles like this midi dress with a similar vibe and you can work with them to customize it to your measurements.

Free People “Oasis” midi dress – Springdust, S. Another great running-dramatically-through-a-field dress. It does have pockets, but the material is thin so if you put anything heavier into them it’ll affect the silhouette. The bodice tie ends in tiny jingle bells, which depending on you could either be the most charming or the most annoying thing ever. Super comfortable and I either wear this with a balconette bra with the straps just down in the sleeves, or without a bra as the ruched section is pretty thick. 🌻 There is a very similar pale blue tencel smocked dress available in sizes 14-28 from Eloquii 🌼 There is also a budget amazon dupe. From the reviews and photos, the main differences sound like the dupe runs longer, wrinkles more easily, does not have the side slit, has the skirt seam in the front, has larger scale smocking, no pockets, the skirt looks slightly less full, the lining layer does not come down as far, and there doesn’t seem to be any source on the specific fabric composition aside from ‘cotton blend’. However it runs around $32 instead of $118.

Unique Vintage Brionne Pinafore Dress in Pumpkin Patch, size L (10/12) –

Free People “Get Obsessed” mini dress – black and burnt orange (I think the stock name was “autumn pearl”), S. This is the same as the “I’m Still Obsessed” dress but with glorious 3/4 sleeves. It has the same cut in the body although it has a tendency on me (and probably anyone with a larger bust) to ride up in front so the waist seam has a high-low look from the side. The skirt is voluminous enough that it doesn’t really seem to make the hem high-low though. Great for imagining you’re a dramatic ballet peasant frolicking through a forest. Like many FP items, it’s been in and out of stock over the last couple of months in various colors.

Free People “How About You” mini dress – Springdust, S. A glorious godet-filled dress fit for a ren faire or an overly-romanticized picnic. The placket on this is rather gape-y by design, so you’re probably not wearing this to work. I find the sleeves do stay up as long as you aren’t moving too vigorously, but the sleeves are wide set enough that this will not work with bra straps. (similarly cut “Ari” Mini Dress)

Free People “Perfect Solution Maxi Dress” in Plum Jam, size S – I got this in my usual Free People stretchy/oversize dress size and it fits great. This is meant to fit snug on the bodice as the whole thing is smocked. The fabric is thicker than on the “Oasis” dress, so it doesn’t sag as much when you use the pockets, but is less airy. I would need to wear platform boots/shoes with this outside for it to not drag on the ground, but I use it mostly as a lounge dress. This is a boob dress for sure, no wearing this to the office. I found it keeps boobs secure but not supported.

Overalls and Shortalls

Free People Ziggy Railroad Overalls, L in Olive Sparrow (I also have the same ones in plain black denim) – Unlike the stretchy/knit items at FP, this runs more true to size. The fabric looks the same on the inside so it’s easy to cuff if you’re shorter. The front side pockets are probably not deep enough for most modern smartphones, but I can at least comfortably rest my hands in them. I like that this almost looks like corduroy, but the fabric is more amenable to spring/summer weather. These are sturdier feeling than the Aerie denim shortalls, but they don’t feel like they’re gonna last into becoming a multigenerational vintage piece. But I personally like their balance between comfort and thickness.

Aerie “Werk & Play” Denim Shortalls, L in mauve (I also have these in black) – A comfy pair of short overalls! The mauve color is unique and there’s also a little bit of subtle floral embroidery on the back pockets. These are a soft denim so they’re really comfortable, but I wouldn’t expect these to reach handmedown status because of the thinner fabric. Great for transitional outfits from summer to fall!

Loungewear, Activewear, and Underwear

Gap Vintage Soft Classic Joggers – Olive Green, S. I got these in a regular length and they’re a proper full length on me. These didn’t like, blow me away with their quality (slightly on the thin side, some pilling around the crotch after only a few wears) but they are solid for the price, and I’m happy with the fit and color.

Jockey Generation Women’s Slip Short, M – No more thigh chafe! I like that these are 90% nylon, 7% Spandex, 3% Cotton. These are slightly sheer, it’s closer to wearing shorts length tights than bike shorts.

Aerie OFFLINE Seamless Sports Bra, M – I have two of these and if they ever restock the mediums I’ll probably buy another. My favorite sports bra, comfortable and support for light and medium exercise (wouldn’t recommend for running/jump rope) and I like that it’s longline and high neck so I also wear it as a top.

Aerie Sunnie Lace Bralette, M – I have this in a few colors and is my go-to bra. Just the right blend of comfort, cuteness, and coverage (there are removable pads). I’m pushing the upper end of 32DD and I’d say that’s the largest size I’d recommend for the medium.

Free People Moondust Cardi, S in Sea Glass – Faeriecore loungewear at its finest! A super fun and comfortable zip hoodie with a fluttery handkerchief hem finish. I haven’t actually washed mine yet so I can’t speak to how well it holds up in the wash.

Target Universal Thread High-rise Lounge Pants, L – 77% cotton 23% linen lightweight pants with a drawstring and side pockets with a luxe floral print. Not my main style, but I liked the print and it matches my living room decor πŸ˜› These fit my hips comfortably but I have to cinch quite a bit at the waist, which does make it puff out slightly at the hips, but I don’t mind. Comes right to the top of my feet uncuffed, and the print folds under enough you can cuff it once and still have a clean look.
